Previous Chair of Brent Neighbourhood Watch Association (BNWA), now a committee member and Treasurer.

The CNHC became the regulator for complementary healthcare in October 2013. The CNHC is the only voluntary regulatory body for complementary healthcare which has official government backing and which provides a single point of information for the public. It is the only body which demonstrates that practitioners meet a nationally agreed standard and can use the CNHC Quality Mark. Its purpose is to enhance public safety, by giving the general public access to a list of complementary therapists whose qualifications meet national standards of competence and practice. It also provides an independent complaints procedure for members of the public.

The CNHC strongly encourages practitioners to be members of professional associations as well as registering with the CNHC.

What should I look for when choosing a complementary therapist?

Around one in five people in the UK have used some form of complementary therapy or treatment. All the evidence shows a massive rise in public interest in, and use of, complementary and alternative treatments.
However, there has previously been no one central source of information for a member of the public to check if the complementary therapist that they are thinking of using meets professional standards of safety and competence. The purpose of the CNHC Register is to enhance public safety, by giving the general public access to a list of complementary therapy practitioners that have been assessed as meeting national standards of competence and practice.

If in any doubt as to whether a practitioner is registered, you can search CNHC’s on-line register.
Use the Search the Register facility click here to search.

You can also look to see if a practitioner is displaying the CNHC quality mark. Please see What does the CNHC Quality Mark mean for further information.

CNHC registers the following complementary therapies:

WHAT IS AN AURA?

The aura is the electromagnetic field (EMF) that surrounds the human body (Human Energy Field - HEF) and every organism and object in the Universe.

The aura consist of seven levels/layers/auric bodies . Each one of the subtle bodies that exist around the physical body, has its own unique frequency. They are interrelated, and affect one another and the person's feelings, emotions, thinking, behaviour, and health as well. Therefore a state of imbalance in one of the bodies leads to a state of imbalance in the others.

Golden Aura: The color of enlightenment and divine protection. When seen within the aura, it says that the person is being guided by their highest good. It is divine guidance. Protection, wisdom, inner knowledge, spiritual mind, intuitive thinker.
